Analytics alerts

Updated: Oct 1, 2025
This topic provides an overview of the alerting feature within the Developer Dashboard. As a developer, analytics alerts enable members of your team to set up and receive alerts for your app. These alerts trigger when specific metrics exceed provided thresholds. This facilitates you and your team to take timely actions through these data-driven notifications.
Currently, alerts are available for the Overview, Revenue, Crash, User Engagement, Performance, Benchmarking, Multiplayer, and User Review analytics dashboards and metrics.

Prerequisites

  • To access and set up analytics alerts, you must have published an app on the Meta Horizon Store with over 100 active users throughout its lifetime.
  • To receive email notifications for analytics alerts, make sure your email notification preferences are enabled. You can adjust these settings by navigating from Account Settings to Notifications in the Developer Dashboard.

Limitations

  • Alerts are sent no more than once per day for each unique metric.
  • Currently, analytics alerts are not enabled on MQDH or web.
  • You can’t set up crash or performance alerts for 2D apps.

Using alerting

To configure a new alert:

  1. Open the Developer Dashboard, select your app, then navigate to Analytics > Alerting. Alternatively, you can navigate directly to /manage/applications/{APP_ID}/analytics/alerting/.
  2. Click Create alert.
  3. Choose a metric on which you want to be alerted.
  4. Submit the form to activate the alert.

  4. Click Manage alerts.

Viewing alerts

You can configure where alerts are sent from Notifications on your Developer Dashboard Account Settings page. Note that alerts will only be delivered to the email addresses for team members who subscribed to the alerts. Currently, analytics alerts are not enabled on MQDH or web.
Emails are sent from do_not_reply@email.meta.com

Universal alerts

In addition to the alerts that you can configure, there are also the following automatically created universal alerts:
  • Low User Crash Rate
  • Low App Ratings
  • High Average Max Consecutive Stale Frames
Universal Alerts email notifications are sent to team members with the Administrator role for the org. For more information on roles, see Add members and roles to your team.

Best practices

When using analytics alerts, keep the following best practices in mind:
  • Set clear and meaningful thresholds for alerts to avoid noise and false alarms. Note that you can use the Manage alerts functionality to unsubscribe or delete unwanted alerts.
  • Employ alerts to detect frame rate drops or increased crash rates from recent app updates.
  • Monitor and manage user reviews by getting alerted for each 1-star review.
  • Celebrate key milestones by configuring alerts on lifetime metrics.
