How Member Notes Can Help You Manage Your Organization
Whether you’re wearing multiple hats as part of a small team or facilitating workstreams within a large company, properly managing the members of your organization can have a positive impact on your team’s efficiency.
That said, every organization is different, and we want to provide you with the tools you need to manage your org flexibly in a way that makes sense for your team’s size and needs. Today, we’re excited to announce that you can use Organization Member Notes in the Developer Dashboard to support and manage your team members with greater detail.
Member notes are specific to your organization and can be added, updated, or deleted by org admins. They’re viewable by all org members and can provide a variety of information across your entire organization.
You can use member notes for any purpose you see fit, but some of the early use cases we’ve seen include:
Tracking member contact information
Grouping members together by task/project
Identifying a project in a member’s workstream
Creating reminders
Providing background information on a member’s expertise
Accessible information on members’ tasks, responsibilities, and backgrounds provides transparency between org members, ultimately helping your teams get more done faster. This is especially important for large organizations with many team members and cross-functional collaboration. The last thing you want is for your team to be confused about roles and responsibilities or to create unnecessary roadblocks. Member notes can also be a valuable asset for new members of your team to become more familiar with your organization’s workstreams.
Org admins can get started creating member notes today within the Members Management page of the Developer Dashboard. To learn more on how to get the most from the Developer Dashboard, check out our documentation.
